Welcome to my first post, Futuristic views, in the Open Your Eyes series.
This month of March, the series features the Top 3 interesting article that caught my attention from the in-flight magazine I saw during my flight to Amsterdam.
- Under Restuarant
- Uber, the new flying Taxi
- Automated Hotel, managed by bots!
Under Water restaurant, is located in the southernmost coast of Norway.
The underwater restaurant, designed as a periscope, is aptly named as “Under”. But wait, it’s not the “Under” as in the
Of course, no doubt that it’s a real wonder. This first underwater restaurant in Europe is going to be open in spring 2019.
The construction started on Jan 15, 2018, and the restaurant is planned to be open to the public by beginning of this month. This entire hotel weighs around 2000 tons. Why not? With 0.5 meters thick wall of reinforced concreate, it is sure to weigh so much.
Shocked? Wait, I have more shocks coming up.
This entire restaurant is being constructed outside the icy waters of the North Atlantic in Lindesnes and to be immersed in the water after completion.
It can house up to 100 people and will serve the seafood specialty. The highlight of this hotel is that it would have a glass window to provide an excellent view for the guests through the 11×4 meter glass window – a breathtaking view of the seabed.
Are you interested to book a table in this restaurant? Do not wait, head here to do so.
Uber, the new flying Taxi
Next article is about the revolutionary vision of Uber on how to make the flying in reach to the general public – after the
With the growing amount of traffic, don’t we all love to have a safe, reliable and affordable flying taxi service? No, it is no more a science fiction or fantasy. This is going to be a reality soon in the coming years.
Uber is planning to come up with such a taxi service in Los Angeles by 2023. I am sure it is going to be fully implemented before the Olympic games in 2028 in LA.
They are already working with their partners on launching a dedicated fleet of small, electric “Vertical takeoff and landing” aircraft.
Finally, no more waiting at the boarding gates. Call, book and fly!
Automated Hotel, managed by bots
The last article I want to highlight here is again a futuristic vision that is more or less have become a reality now. It is about the power of Artificial Intelligence and the market it brings.
Can we say technology is replacing humans and their job?
Well, it’s surely an interesting debate. But for now, I would assume that technology is helping humans to spend more time in areas where we really need more focus. And other typical jobs are being taken up by the Robots.
Tech giants like Alibaba and Tencent are already setting up the fully automated hotels. Is this the new trend?
I would say yes. There are hotels that have tech robots that can allow you to check-in using facial recognition. And rooms with voice-activated lighting systems to serve the guests.
And I believe that it is time to say bye-bye to the Receptionist-Robot and book my Uber flying taxi to get to the Under restaurant in Norway.
